Welcome to the website of Fresh Trade Belgium.
Fresh Trade Belgium is the federation representing the importers, exporters and wholesalers of fruits and vegetables in Belgium.
Together with Belgapom (Belgian trade and processing of potatoes) and Vegebe (processing of vegetables) and under coordination of the University of Ghent, Fresh Trade Belgium has elaborated a Guide Autocontrol/ Selfchecking, the G014 for the trade and processing of fruits, vegetables and potatoes. The Guide can be procured at the secretariat. Our associations also organize trainings, for more information check www.guideac.be
Finally Fresh Trade Belgium is partner of VEG-I-TRADE, a project about food safety, food security and climate change (2010-2014), coordinated by the University of Ghent and worked out with the collaboration of 23 partners from Holland, Spain, Norway, South-Africa, India, ...
Fresh Trade Belgium is member of UNIZO and UCM, organisations for SME. The federation is also member of Freshfel (sections Import and Export). On behalf of the exporters of fruits and vegetables Fresh Trade Belgium also has a mandate in the working group fruits and vegetables of Vlam where she participates in the promotion politics for foreign markets. Finally, Fresh Trade Belgium is affiliated to PTMV (Platform of Concertation for Processors and Traders of Primary Vegetal ressources) which, by means of the GIQF standard, offers a guarantee of quality and food safety for the Belgian vegetal sector.
